Understanding Eyelid Surgery
Excess skin and fat deposits above or below the eyes can create a tired or aged appearance. Dr. Charleston Chua performs eyelid surgery (known as blepharoplasty) to lift and tighten the lower or upper eyelids to create a rejuvenated look.
Upper Blepharoplasty
Upper blepharoplasty removes the hanging skin of the upper eyelids that impairs vision. The result is a more flattering appearance and an improved field of vision. An incision is usually made along the eyelid crease to excise tissue and fat.
Lower Blepharoplasty
Lower blepharoplasty removes puffiness and bags under the eyes. The incision is made below the lash line to remove excess fat, and the skin is delicately lifted. The result is a smoother, rejuvenated appearance.

Your blepharoplasty procedure may involve these steps:

After surgery, you should rest at home for a few days. A cold compress can reduce bruising and swelling, and pain medication can help keep you comfortable.
